From Geneva airport to the snow, bus or hire car?

You get to Geneva airport, and you have two options. Pick up a car hire, or take a minibus to the resort. So which is it?

Well, the only real factor (assuming you are working to a budget) is how many of you there are. One or two, and you are best to take the bus. More than that, and it would be cheaper to hire a car.

So here's the maths:

A minibus from Geneva airport to Morzine:

Morzexpress: €23.99 each way (http://www.morzexpress.com/)

Alpybus €19.50 (https://alpybus.com)

Morzine shuttle: €23.75 (http://www.morzineshuttle.com/)

So that is about €45 return.

Car hire from Geneva works out from about at £40 a day during high seaosn.

(See rentalcars.com).

So you can do the maths there:

Two people, for a couple of two or three days, and the return by bus is about €90.

By car (not including petrol), the figure would be about the same.

Add any more people, at car hire becomes so much cheaper.
